MAKING MUSIC

It started when I was a child and was inspired by my dad who played the guitar. So, i thought to myself. Someday, I'm gonna be like my dad with a guitar. When I was 12, dad bought me a guitar and I was so excited to start playing. That is how my musical journey started. I practiced everyday and learned from my dad. I self-taught myself to learn the guitar. I watched a lot of Youtube videos and that is where I improved my techniques on the guitar. I got better since then and now, I've been regularly asked to perform with the church, making song covers with my guitar and jam with my friends.
Guitar isn't my only instrument. I took up organ lessons at Do Re Mi Music Center when I was 13. I took organ because my parents wanted me to play for the church. And I did exactly that. I was 15 when I started to play organ for the church. I went on to learn organ for 4 years and the highest musical grade I achieved is a Grade 5. After that I decided not continue my lessons because SPM was around the corner. Until today, I still play organ for the church not only on Sunday masses but also for weddings and baptism mass.
Having an organ as one of my musical background, I venture into piano and keyboard. Since they are quite similar to organ, I don't have any problems playing them. I am very comfortable playing the piano as well as the keyboards. But, I prefer and I love PIANO the most. I feel so much more relaxing when I play the piano. Maybe because the piano is one of the instruments that produce the kind of tone or music that goes deep into the soul. I can't explain how delightful it is. To me, if I play the piano, the feeling is beyond description. Last October in 2010, I was the keyboardist for my college's musical, which is called The Taylor's Pre-U Musical. It is such an honor to be performing with other amazing musicians from the college. Definitely, the 4 night musical is one of the most memorable moment and the greatest event/performance that I have ever been involved with.
Then I venture into drums. Drumming isn't my main instrument but I still love playing them! This shows how much I love making music. Haha!! I started drumming when I was jamming with my cousin and it was only the two of us. So I went for the drums while he played the guitar. Since then, the rest was history. Whenever I went jamming with my friends, I volunteer myself on the drums. I can do pop music, metal, hip hop and R&B. Still, I am not one of the best drummers around and I will aim to improve my skills on the drums. Yeah!
Later on, I venture into music and audio production. Which in short means, producing songs. I currently have two original songs which I posted on Youtube. I also produce song covers which I posted regularly in Facebook. This whole process of recording, editing and exporting isn't that hard. All that is needed are a couple of good microphones for recording audio, a decent camera to create a decent music video and an editing software. It does require a lot of work. But once you enjoy doing it, you will love it!
I am thankful to God for blessing me with my musical talents. Of course, there are rooms for improvements. There are people out there who are better than me. I'm just one of them musicians who love playing my own instruments with the skills I've got. There's no point to be jealous or envy the talents of others. Just be yourself. And most importantly, be happy with whoever you are and in whatever you are doing. There's only one you in this whole world. And certainly, there is only one Bryan Rundi in this world.
