Hi there PEOPLE!!
It's been a month since I last blogged! And let me tell you, the whole month of March is full of everything exciting and tiring! Assignments to be done, presentations, tests, homeworks and much more. There is a week's break and I've got the chance to go back to my hometown and collect my new IC. Well, a one week break wasn't enough though. Time passes by so soon and the next thing I know was that I was back in Subang. Pffft..
Ok. I'm gonna start of with my IELTS exam. I got Band 7.5 out of a maximum Band of 9. Some of my friends are better than me. They got 8.0 and a few got 8.5. Congrats to them! Band 7.5 is good enough since the requirement for most Canadian universities is IELTS Band 6.5. So now, I can look forward to studying in Canada. The next important thing is to get a good result for my finals.
Talking about universities, I've received a "conditional offer" from the University of Alberta. U of A doesn't require IELTS result. They accept GCE-O Levels result which is on the bottom left hand corner of the SPM Result Slip. Although U of Alberta isn't my first choice university, I am still glad that they offered me a place in their university. My first choice university in Canada is the UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO!! University of British Columbia is my second choice. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully I will be accepted to the University of Toronto. It is ranked 14th best university in the world and the TOP university in Canada! Fuyoh!! That will be a great addition to my resume. Let me ask you, which company wouldn't want to employ a U of Toronto graduate?? I pray to God that He will grant my wish. Amen..
Next thing is I can't decide which Engineering field I would like to learn in the future. I know that it is still too early to decide now, but everyone needs to plan ahead right? Currently, I'm thinking of doing Mechanical Engineering. I've told my parents and some of my friends that I'll be doing Mechy in the future. HOWEVER, I feel that Mechanical Engineering is too 'common'. I wanna do something different. Aerospace Engineering maybe?? Or Engineering Physics? You know..the thing is..I wanna be different. Ok, some of you might ask "what is the prospect of Aerospace Engineering?" and "what the heck is Engineering Physics?" Well, one of my ambition is to work with an aviation company. Possibly Boeing or Airbus or NASA or maybe set up my own aviation company! This is what I want in life. Learning something new and different. Nevertheless, I will still accept if I am offered Mechanical Engineering or other engineering field in the future. I'm still thankful that I am a sponsored oversea student because I know that I should not waste my time here and I should work hard to achieve what I want to achieve.
Here's another thing. I would like to share my thoughts about LEADERSHIP. I think that it is important for me to share this because I've noticed that not many young people has leadership potentials. When working in a group, it is so important to have a leader to organize things out and plan a schedule to ensure that the project or assignment you are working on is done ahead of the given deadline. One thing I noticed is that when a group wants to assign a leader, everyone points fingers to one another. No one volunteers. Afraid perhaps? Or are they not confident to live up to the expectations?
In this semester alone, I've been group leader thrice. And I feel quite comfortable with it. I feel that to be a good leader in the future, you have to groom your potential in school or college. From my experience, when being a leader, you have to remind your group mates about their task. If they do not cooperate, you will have to give them a good advice. Do not be mad with them cause then they will demoralize and will not enjoy having you as their group mate. I feel that as humans mature, they have to be responsible. Everyone knows what to do and what they are suppose to do.
I think I've said enough. Sorry for this long blog. If you have read this far, THANK YOU so much much!! I'll update some more stuffs in the future. Currently, I'm busy working on my English ISU essay. I need to read two books and write a thesis study comparing the two books. I've finished reading my first book, which is 'One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich' and is no halfway through reading my second book which is 'The Diary of A Young Girl by Anne Frank'. Both are good books though. I've still had to come out with a thesis for my essay. All the best to me! Hope you guys enjoy your life too. Whatever u are doing right now, DON'T EVER GIVE UP!! Everyone is awesome! The sky is the limit! Good luck! Smile always!
Regards,
Bryan Rundi
