On Tuesday, I got the chance to meet my dad since he stopped by in KL before going back to Bintulu for the Gawai holidays. So, we went out and had steamboat for dinner and talked about his work, my studies, my university choices and so on. A typical son and dad relationship. Speaking about the Gawai holidays, this year, I will not be going back to my village. I've never missed going back every year! I am a bit disappointed but I have to put my studies first and foremost. Final exam starts on June 9 if I'm not mistaken. There's no time for 'iban karaokes', 'ngajat', 'tuak gawai', 'ai pengayu', 'ngabang' and all those Gawai stuffs.
And then on Wednesday, I had my ISU presentations! Not one, but two! ISU stands for Independent Study Unit which is a project that you work independently throughout the semester and present it to the class at the end of the semester. So, on Wednesday, I presented my ISU for English and Computer Science. For Computer Science, our ISU was to create a game using Adobe Flex Builder. Me and my team mates (Deepa and Sze Hao) created a game called Flight Fighters which is a jet vs jet game and is based on arcade and avoidance. We spent most of our time to ensure that the game runs smoothly and hopefully our lecturer gives a good mark for it.
Moving on, I presented my English ISU on the same day as well. For English ISU, every student is assigned two novels for them to read and write an essay about the theme/characters/conflicts/etc. that is related to the two novels. Basically, what I presented was the thesis for my essay which is "The Impact of War on Society in The Diary of Anne Frank and One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich". My presentation was ok and my timing was just right at about 20 minutes. During Q&A, I couldn't answer one question that was asked by my lecturer. He asked, "How does the Treaty of Versailles brought about the World War 2?". And I was standing there like a statue for 20 seconds before he asked another question which is "After the war, Germany recovered both economically and politically while in Japan, they recovered economically but not politically. Why is that so?". Seriously, how am I supposed to know?? Nak tak nak, I jawab je lah! Hahaha...
Thursday!! The great thing about last Thursday was that I had only two classes and a 5 hour break in between those two classes! I spent the entire day in the library reading newspaper, peer-editing my friend's essay and reading notes for Malaysian Studies exam. That evening was our Malaysian Studies final exam. It was ok. Hopefully I can get an A for it. Hehe.
And on Thursday night, I recorded a piano version of my song Closer. There are comments saying that my piano was messed up. The reason being I was emo that night and was lazy to rerecord many times. The one I posted in Facebook was my third attempt. Ya, I know I'm not a good piano player. I'm just doing it for fun! :)

That basically wraps up the week!! There is one more performance tonight for the talent show but I think the audience will be lesser than yesterday. Nevertheless, we still have to perform well!
With this, I would like to wish all my family and friends a Selamat Ari Gawai. Anang bendar ngirup gawai tok. Ngirup tau tapi nemu2 meh limit diri empu. Anang sampai nyau palau nda nemu dunya alu ka belayak. Enda tau piak arr. Aku ke jauh tok nda ulih pulai. Lalu aku ngarap ke kitak semua gayu guru gerai nyamai, lantang senang nguan menua. Nyangkung meh makai lauk kampung diak. Anang solo2. Hehe. Begulai manah maia Gawai auk? Ngau tok, mupuk aku.
So, how's your week guys? Hopefully you all had a great one as well. Till then, goodbye!!!
